Founded in Grasse, France, in 1996 by artist Martine Micallef and businessman Geoffrey Nejman, the house pioneered the concept of "Art & Perfume", creating fragrances of exceptional richness housed in hand-decorated bottles that are works of art in their own right. Today, M. Micallef is regarded as one of the defining names of luxury niche perfumery, celebrated for its French craftsmanship, artistic freedom, and enduring appeal across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

The founders worked closely with master perfumer Jean-Claude Astier, who became a long-standing creative partner and helped establish the olfactory identity of the brand. Using exceptional raw materials and traditional French perfumery techniques, Micallef developed fragrances known for their richness, sophistication, longevity and compositions.
